In my last blog post I shared the story of a patient whose hand I held as she was asking what to expect as she approached her imminent death.
For some people they believe death to be a period in the sentence of life. Others consider the end of the sentence to be punctuated with a question mark. In reality, death is a merely a comma, a brief pause before what comes next.
What happens after the comma is determined by what came before. What did we believe about Jesus Christ. Did we accept the greatest gift known as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said:
“I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
Jesus spoke very directly of who He was and why He came. He is the Way. He is Truth.
He is Life. On the cross he bore all sin and judgement, that is all sin and judgement including ours!
“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
Luke 1:76-79

Thank you for what you do. I have Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and last July did something less than 30% do and that’s live 5 years. My oxygen intake has gone from 2 to 4 at rest. With exertion 6. Can’t go too far but the ride I have been on with the Holy Spirit I wouldn’t trade for my health back. Not everyone gets this long goodbye and chance to take a long look in the mirror and do some serious soul searching. I have truly been blessed.
