Why It Matters
The harmony of music is the multiple notes when played together are more pleasing
than the arithmetic sum. Rather, when played create a beautiful equation unique
to the balance and progression of notes. The harmony of narrative can be found in
the Four Gospels of the New Testament and other parallel narratives which form a
single narrative text that is continuous. The harmony of human value seeks to
develop balance or peace within oneself and with others despite affirming or
opposing forces. The harmony of the soul and Spirit is found through right
relationship with our Creator.
Harmony as an ingredient of our Good Death Lifestyle is found in The Fruit of the Spirit.[1] The qualities of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control can balance those parts of self and in others which seek discord. On my own, I am incapable of fully realizing the richness of life found in these qualities. When I submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in my life, I can experience the beautiful music of life with myself and with others.
Harmony as an ingredient of our best death is found in Jesus Christ. He provides the balance between our human sin and God’s perfection. He is harmony.
