I live in motion. If you know me, you know what I mean. I’m always on the go—thinking fast, moving fast, praying fast. Even in sleep, my body rebels with twitching legs and restless energy. So when I found myself lying still on a blanket in the grass one afternoon, I didn’t know what to do with it. The sun was warm but gentle. My dog Harper rested her paw across my ankle. For once, the world was quiet. And then I saw it. A hawk floating on thermals. Clouds drifting toward one another. Molecules connecting. And in that moment, God whispered to my heart:
“This is my creation, and I created it for connection.” I was reminded that even at the molecular level—water, DNA, atoms—God has designed everything to connect. And we are no exception. In my busy life, I almost missed it. But slowing down helped me remember who I am and whose I am. Friend, maybe you’re like me—always in motion. But today, will you pause? Will you see what God is trying to show you? Because true connection with Him doesn’t come through hustle. It comes through stillness. Anticipating Heaven is more than a book about dying—it’s a call to live with intention. And if your soul has felt frayed or disconnected lately, I invite you to take a moment to reflect with me. You’ll also find encouragement in the Planning for Peace Checklist, designed to help you slow down, reflect, and prepare for what matters most. Even in stillness, we’re being shaped.

With love and rest,
Dr. Pamela
